Stand By Me - 奋斗 [2011]

Stand By Me" is an adaptation of the popular Chinese telenovela Struggle, which focused on the lives of young graduates striving to balance career and love life. It follows on the heels of two TV-to-film hits earlier this year, "My Own Swordsman" and "Eternal Love", which took in more than 100 million yuan ($15.28 million) at the box office.

Li Chen plays Lu Tao, a talented architect who works hard but can't get many opportunities from his jealous boss. But instead of getting help from his rich father, as he does in the TV series, the film gives Lu a more independent personality. He refuses to see his father, who abandoned him when young, save to accept a car from him. Dong Xuan plays Xia Lin, an independent girl passionate about fashion and determined to get to Paris, with a more mature and elegant touch than her TV counterpart.
