Synopsis
Ito (Keiko Kitagawa) is the daughter of a clan official and she is one skilled swordswoman. One day she happens to meet a lower class samurai fighter called Magoshiro (Shuntaro Miyao) and invites him for a bamboo sword fighting contest.

Magoshiro immediately agrees and her father (Jun Kunimura) approves the contest on condition that it is an one time affair contest only. The contest between a male and female swordsman looks so close and finally Magoshiro wins. Although Ito lost the contest she earns respect as a brave fighter from Magoshiro.

The one time contest then leads to romance for both of them. But there is an obstacle on both sides; Magoshiro has been paired with Kayo (Ayumi Ito) for marriage while Ito's arranged future husband is Saisuke (Masahiro Komoto), a much older and experienced samurai fighter than Magoshiro.

However, both have problems to get along with their future partners' character and to make the matter worse, Magoshiro takes away his own life after a clever plot by a clan leader (Kamejiro Ichikawa).

For the sake of their love and in the name of revenge Ito takes up her sword to seek justice for Magoshiro
