"The Sorcerer and the White Snake," a well-known tale in China, tells a love story between the white snake and the herbalist Xu Xian. Xu Xian helped cure the white snake's wounds once, and the white snake wanted to repay him for his kindness. As a demon who has gone through 1,000 years of spiritual and martial arts training, the white snake appeared before the herbalist in human form, and a melodious love story unfolded before them.

Their affection for each other, though deep and strong, was forbidden. The sorcerer, acting as the "police" of the past, had his eyes on the white snake and was determined to put her where she truly belongs. The consequence for that was a life-and-death battle between humans and demons and between love and hatred.

Cao Cao hopes that Guan Yu will continue serving him and showers him with gifts and rewards, but is rejected by the latter. Guan Yu is secretly in love with his sworn brother's concubine Qilan, but is afraid to express his feelings to her. Qilan reproaches Guan Yu for serving Cao Cao. By then, Guan Yu has also received news of Liu Bei's whereabouts, so he prepares to leave Cao Cao.

Cao Cao is reluctant to let Guan Yu go, so he tricks Guan into consuming wine spiked with aphrodisiac, in hope that Guan will show his love to Qilan. However, Guan Yu manages to remain rational and did not take his sworn brother's concubine for himself. Eventually, Guan Yu escorts Liu Bei's spouses out of Cao Cao's territory to rejoin his sworn brother. Cao Cao is unable to stop Guan Yu and gives orders for the defending generals at the various passes to let Guan Yu through. Despite so, Cao Cao's followers feel that Guan Yu will become a threat to them if he succeeds in escaping, so they plot to have Guan killed. Mainlander & financial analyst Cheng Zixin (Yuanyuan Gao), who followed her then boyfriend Owen (Terence Yin) to Hong Kong, runs into her ex-boyfriend while riding the bus. Hyun-Joon (Song Sae-Byeok) is a comic book artist from the Jeolla-do region, now working in the capital city of Seoul. One day he meets Da-Hong (Lee Si-Young), a fan of his who is from the port city of Pusan. The couple's relationship has progressed where they are now thinking of marriage. The only problem is Da-Hong's father (Baek Yun-Shik) has a severe prejudice of people from the Jeolla-do region. When Da-Hong's father was younger he was a professional baseball pitcher. He was then beaned in the eye by a pitcher which ended his baseball career. The pitcher was from the Jeolla-do region. Making the couple's possible marriage even more tricky, Hyun-Joon's father (Kim Eung-Soo) wants his son to marry a local girl from the Jeolla-do region.

The couple then comes up with an idea. Hyun-Joon will go to Da-Hong's home and tell a "small" white lie about his background - that he is a native of Seoul. Now, Hyun-Joon must lose his regional Jeolla-do dialect and also be able to lie to his possible future in-laws.

The film is split into three stories titled "Desire", "Vengeance" and "Greed". In "Greed", the Swordsman Dugu Cheng (Ashton Xu) inherits a lump of iron that was made by Fat Tang (You Benchang) from the melted-down swords from previous champion warriors. After making the iron into a sword, Dugu faces problems when entering combat with it.

Pil-Yong (Park Joong-Hoon) has been forever a lowly public official of 7th grade in Jeonju, South Korea.

3 years ago his wife Hyo-Kyung (Ye Ji-Won) collapsed of a cerebral infarction largely due to him. Pil-Yong took his son to a relative and now takes care of his wife who has difficulty in moving. Pil-Yong wants to be promoted to a deputy director in the higher 5th grade before he retires.

Pil-Yong finds out that his new boss is interested in hanji (traditional Korea paper). Because of this, Pil-Yong transfers to the hanji department.

Meanwhile, documentary filmmaker Ji-Won (Kang Soo-Yeon) shoots a documentary about hanji. To make her documentary, Ji-Won travels throughout the country. By chance, Ji-Won meets Pil-Yong and they do not get along with each other. She learns that Pil-Yong plans to restore a copy of the annals of the Joseon Dynasty using hanji of a traditional kind. Ji-Won joins Pil-Yong.

Pil-Yong becomes obsessed with his project. A strange mood starts to brew between Pil-Yong and Ji-Won. Hyo-Kyung notices the change in her husband. Also, the project is on the verge of collapsing.

Nan Feng (Fan Bing Bing) is a rock singer and together she with Ding Bo (Chen Bo Lin) and Fatso (Fei Long) rent a house in Chengdu. They failed to get into university and are best of friends.

One day they receive news their rental house will be demolished and decide to move a new home that belong to Chang Yue Qin (Sylvia Chang), who is a widow and retired Chinese opera singer. She had lost her only child and son in a road accident.

She smokes regularly, in order to kill her loneliness and the ugly past. One day her deceased son's girlfriend, Lin Yue (Jin Jing) returns to celebrate his birthday even after his death and brings along a birthday cake.

This unexpected visit by Lin Yue makes Yue Qin more sad as she too cannot forget his son's death and still keep his damaged car inside the garage.

Ding Bo works as illegal motorcycle courier and often goes clubbing during the night with Fatso and Nan Feng. His father (Fang Li) will get married to a new young wife (Liu Jie).

Meanwhile, Nan Feng's father (Wang Guo Yu) is an alcoholic and often beat her mother (Shi Min Fang).

While singing on stage Nan Feng lands into trouble when she accidentally hits a VIP customer's (Yuan Ze) crotch with a microphone and is required to pay compensation as requested by the bar owner (Li Di).

As they have no money, they decide to take money from Yue Qin's room without her knowledge and permission. They substitute the money they have taken with fake cash and decide to return the fake money with real cash once they received their salaries.

The trio make a trip to countryside and visit an abandoned and badly damaged Guan Yin Buddha Temple located on the hill. They decide to rebuild it together with the monk (Bao Zhen Jiang).

As Yue Qin struggles to recover from his son's death, she tries to take away her own life by injuring her wrist with a knife. The friends manage to take her to hospital on time and save her life. They also help to get his son's car to be fixed and visit the damaged building after the Wenchuan Earthquake.

One night while dancing at disco Nan Feng witnesses Ding Bo having fun with another girl (Xiang Xue) and she leaves immediately. Fatso manages to console her, who is in love with Ding Bo but could not express it out.

Soon it is revealed Ding Bo has one abusive and alcoholic father and both of them decide to end their life on the railway track by the incoming train. Fatso manages to appear just in time and save their lives.

After successfully building the temple into its original condition, Yue Qin struggles to understand impermanence when she lost both of her husband and son.

The monk advises her to let go of the past completely if she wants to achieve absolute happiness as part of Buddhism practice. According to the monk when one doesn't feel life or death, it offers the best future.

She decides to walk to the top of the hill and later is nowhere to be seen. The friends then leave the place with a train.

The film is based on a true yet unsolved murder case from the early 1990s that is known among Koreans as the “disappearance of the frog children.” In 1991, five elementary school students told their parents that they were going to hang out on a nearby mountain to catch frogs. They never came back.

In the movie, a TV producer, the devastated parents of the missing children, a professor and a detective all take different stances on the case and in the end one of the parents becomes a primary suspect. In reality, the case morphed into a national scandal.

Director Lee Kyoo-man, a rising star in the Korean film industry, is expected to present a compelling depiction of the case.

But just as the case hurt the parents in real life, the movie could touch off nerves - especially because the film depicts the parents as primary suspects in the case.

In style, “Children...” resembles the 2003 hit “Memories of the Murder,” which was based on another unsolved mystery of a serial killing in Hwaseong, Gyeonggi, in the early ’90s.

The movie is about Gattu (Akshay Kumar) who is living the life his father chose for him. When Gattu was young, racism was a big issue. On his birthday, the Whites broke his home window and yelled "We don't want you in our country." At this point, his father, Gurtej Singh Kahlon (Rishi Kapoor)had become fed up with the Whites, and grabbed a pot and almost hit one of the Whites with it. He was arrested soon after, but then released. A few weeks later, Gattu's uncle was killed in a racial attack. This changed Gattu's father, and made him a kind of leader in the Sikh city of South Hall. He made a lot of changes that stopped racism where he lived. Gattu had always listened to his father, which made his siblings resent him.They were not allowed to do what they wanted, and had to be very traditional Sikhs. Gattu had always been good at cricket, though his dad would never let him become a member of the British team. When tryouts come out, Gattu's siblings convinced him to tryout. If he gets on the team, their father might be able to realize that the world isn't as racist anymore as it used to be. They are able to hide the fact the Gattu is on the team, but their father eventually finds out. Seeing his son on a team he despises gave Gurtej heart failure, and he ends up in the E.R. He disgraces Gattu, but Gattu still plays cricket anyway. He is deeply hurt to be disgraced by his father, but he also loves cricket, and hopes to change his father. The people of Southall all come together, and try to convince Gurtej that it is okay to be a cricket player for England. He locks himself inside the house, but his wife is still with him. She tells him that she has never acted as a mother, only a wife, and she often forgot she was both. She turned on the T.V., wanting to see her son fufill his dream. Gurtej watches with her, and realizes how badly he has treated his son. The family comes back in the house, and Gurtej requests for one of them to drive him to the stadium. Gattu is playing poorly, because he is so upset that his father disgraced him. Only at the last ball of the game, Gattu manages to win the championship for England. His father compares his bowling to Late Lala Amar Nath. His father apologizes to him, and all Gattu's siblings are now able to do as they want please.
